Name: Skyler Falde

Personality: He usually comes off as a grouch, a prick, a jerk, or just that loud quiet person in the corner. Skyler is not one for toleration- if something bothers him, he makes to change it, or at least make it a little more manageable. It can be said he has a slight OCD- he likes things to be in ‘balance,’ though his standard for ‘balance’ is probably different than what other people would think. He enjoys the peace and familiarity of something more than anything else, but knows that change is necessary for increased levels of survival. One thing Sky’s learned to do is to avoid stereotypes (“things are not as they appear” and he takes that very seriously. He generally dislikes people who are judgmental based on appearances. Also, despite his rough exterior, he is usually not willing to leave somebody to their deaths- if possible, he’ll try to help (I can’t say he’d do it carefully though- he’d amputate somebody to pull them out from rubbish if it’d make his job faster, for example) though he isn’t much trusting of the happy-spazz types of people. It’s almost like he believes those are the type of people who like to hide things (which makes sense, given his background). He avoids “optimistic airheads” simply because he finds them annoying.

Background: Skyler lived in a place called the BoneHaven (see below). He was the librarian of the haven, and actually quite liked his job. It was a job his father and his grandfather had had before him, even if not the same library. To put it shortly, a white winged angel (named Zachary- he was a smile-and-wave-at-everybody type of person) declared war against the black winged, and genocide occurred. At the end of the chaos, Skyler was cast off of BoneHaven and into the void, sentenced to fall forever through the merciless, vast amounts of space. That is, he had never expected to have been lucky enough to have encountered a portal (as intimidating as it appeared, it couldn’t have been worse than falling until you died).

BoneHaven: The dimension in which the BoneHaven resides is a nothing. The entirety of it is like a vast sky. There is no defined light source, nor a constant pull of gravity (gravity usually pulls in one direction at a time, though, and the light just seems to come from everywhere). The BoneHaven is what it is— a humongous mass of bones that serves as an oasis in the desert of sky- a haven. Nobody on it really remembers how their world came to be, but their myths tell them that the BoneHaven is structured from the bones of souls who have wandered into the dimension over the millennia’s, and that mankind came and weaved them together. The BoneHaven is made up of three sublevels and a ground level. Nobody lives in the bottom-most level— it is generally deserted, and if one were to shift the structuring there, the entire haven would be in danger of collapsing. The old houses (mind you, most of everything on the third level are made from bones) still stand there, empty. The second level contains most of the upper-class angels. The older families reside here, and the larger houses were built here. The third level is the largest living area (imagine the haven being in a “U” shape) where most of the other residents live. The ground level (it’s called the ceiling floor) is for other general public uses. The wall here is built halfway up, but the ceiling is open to allow the light to come in. The garden and library are here, as well as the homes for the arch angels and God.
On the BoneHaven, all of the people are angels, and have a pair of wings. The wings are a genetic thing, though- there are black winged, red-brown winged, speckled winged, white winged, grey winged, so on and so on. The single ruler is titled ‘God’ and the arch angels could be the equality of the senate. In the belief of these people, mankind created them, and Earth is the place they’d like to be- a place where there is no threat of falling off of the BoneHaven to hurtle forever through the sky.

Fighting Style / Abilities: Skyler can fly, obviously. His massive wings give him a pretty good speed and stamina in the air, and he can fly for three to four days straight without rest. He is a decent spell caster (everybody in BoneHaven uses magic. Skyler, being the librarian, works a lot with magic [his job not only includes tending to the books, but binding spell books and performing spells to keep the structure of the BoneHaven and the Garden in check]) and is very well rounded in the elements of magic. Life as a survivor of the genocide and as a rebel (as pitiful as the rebellion force was,) has made him physically stronger than he had been a few years ago, but that doesn’t mean he’d be much good in a close combat fight. Sky really has no sense of nobility- he will fight dirty if he sees fit. Usually, he’d keep a distance (up in the air for example) and cast spells. Typically, the essence of his spells would fit the setting (in this case, they’d mostly be wind attacks, seeing as the breeze is already present and only requires manipulation rather than an additional summoning)

Weaknesses: Ah yes, the funstuff right? Skyler typically refuses to take the lives of humans- being as, in his religion, humans are the equivalent of angels to us. He doesn’t want to fight them either, but if they attack he’ll defend. He is only slightly above average physically, and doesn’t really know how to fight close combat.
Without his spell book (see below) he cannot access most of his spells, and thus can only use the basics he’s memorized (small, simplistic attacks that can usually be easily avoided). Not only that, his book is precious to him and he panics if it is taken.
The crystal worn around his neck is used for storing energy- Skyler previously stored bits of his energy in the crystal throughout most of his early life, and the magic in it is able to keep him going without food or water until it runs empty. The crystal was depleted in great amounts while he had been falling, but it still has a few weeks of energy left. Skyler is running on this crystal at the moment, and if you were to take it away he would generally collapse from exhaustion and sudden hunger/thirst.
Because of his belief against first appearances, he doesn’t attack a person unless they attack him— and if they attack him, he would like to think they had a good reason to.

Spell book: In BoneHaven, all angels have a spell book. It is a recording of their lives, the spells they used, the spells they made, and everything else all put into a single volume. The book looks a lot slimmer than it should look, considering its content, and that’s due to a spell as well. The book is only legible to the specific angel. A stranger who tries to read it comes up with gibberish, and a stranger who tries to write in it will fail to make a mark upon the pages. An angel can write in the book without ink as well, if they use magic.

Crystal: Most gemstones can be used to hold amounts of energy. Sky’s gemstone is just that- a gemstone- but it held vast deposits of magic energy that he had saved up. Half of it has been used already, but there is still a lot left. Depending on how much magic he uses, it will most likely last him for two to three weeks (unless he gets rest and nourishment by then, he will collapse upon its emptying).
Clothing: He did just come out of a sort of genocide/war/rebellion (started as a war, went on to genocide, finished off as a rebellion) and the clothing he wears is not his usually clothing, but the uniform of the rebels. It’s fireproof, but that’s the only enchantment cast onto it.
